Cysladek® Oral Drops

Fat-Soluble Vitamin A, D, E & K Supplementation

Cysladek® Oral Drops is an oral formulation containing the four fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K, provided in MCTs (Medium-Chain Triglycerides)-based formulation.

Fat-soluble vitamins are important for several essential functions in the body, including normal vision, bone health, antioxidant protection, immune function and blood clotting.

Cysladek® may be used when supplementation of fat-soluble vitamins is required, particularly in patients at risk of inadequate absorption because of conditions associated with fat malabsorption.

What is Cysladek® Oral Drops?

Cysladek® Oral Drops provides four important fat-soluble vitamins:

Each drop contains:

  • Vitamin A: 350 IU
  • Vitamin D: 400 IU
  • Vitamin E: 5 mg
  • Vitamin K1: 2.5 mcg

The vitamins are formulated in a Medium-Chain Triglyceride (MCTs) based formulation. MCTSs have different digestion and absorption characteristics from conventional long-chain dietary fats and are use as the lipid vehicle in this oral formulation.

What is a Medium-Chain Triglycerides (MCTs)-based formulation?

MCTs contain medium-chain fatty acids and have different digestive and absorptive characteristics compared with long-chain triglycerides. They are used in various nutritional formulations, including in situations where conventional fat digestion or absorption may be impaired. In Cysladek®, MCTs serves as the lipid vehicle for the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K1. The presence of MCTs in Cysladek® does not mean that the product treats or cures the underlying cause of fat malabsorption. Management of the underlying medical condition should continue as advised by the treating healthcare professional.

How Cysladek® oral drops work

Cysladek® oral drops carry essential Vitamins A, D, E, and K inside a specialized, easily digestible fat carrier called Medium-Chain Triglycerides (MCTs). Because these MCTs do not need normal digestive enzymes or bile to work, they completely bypass the parts of your digestive tract that struggle to absorb regular fats. The vitamins simply hitch a ride on this fast-absorbing carrier, traveling straight into your bloodstream to safely protect you from severe nutritional deficiencies.

Who may need fat-soluble vitamin supplementation?

Fat-soluble vitamin supplementation may be considered in patients with medical conditions associated with impaired absorption of these vitamins.

Examples may include conditions involving:

  • Pancreatic exocrine dysfunction
  • Cholestatic or other conditions affecting bile flow
  • Cystic fibrosis
  • Intestinal disorders associated with malabsorption
  • Other conditions where a healthcare professional identifies a risk of fat-soluble vitamin deficiency

The need for supplementation should be determined according to the patient's age, medical condition, nutritional status, laboratory findings and clinical requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

MCTs is use as the lipid vehicle in the formulation. MCTs have different digestive and absorption characteristics from long-chain triglycerides and are use in nutritional formulations for selected clinical situations.

No. Cysladek® is intended to provide fat-soluble vitamin supplementation. It does not treat the underlying medical condition responsible for fat malabsorption.

Use in infants should be based on the paediatrician’s recommendation. Do not administer vitamin drops to an infant without appropriate medical advice.

Discuss this with your healthcare professional first. Taking multiple products containing the same fat-soluble vitamins may result in excessive intake.

No. Cysladek® provides vitamin supplementation and should be used alongside, rather than instead of, appropriate treatment for the underlying condition.

Cysladek® provides fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, and K) that are carried in a medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) lipid base. Because the formulation already includes this specialized lipid vehicle to aid absorption, it does not strictly require a high-fat meal to work. However, you should follow the specific timing and administration instructions provided by your healthcare professional.

If you miss a scheduled dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose entirely and resume your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten one, as this increase the risk of vitamin build-up.

Because Cysladek® provides supplemental support for an underlying medical condition causing fat malabsorption; it is often a long-term or lifelong therapy. Your doctor will determine the exact duration of your treatment based on regular evaluations of your overall health and dietary needs. Do not stop taking the supplement without consulting your healthcare team.
